Description

The collection is inspired by the steel chairs in the Thorvaldsen Museum, built in 1848 next to Christiansborg Palace in the Danish capital.

The result is modern, elegant designer furniture that reflects the romantic aesthetic of the Nordic 19th century.

Founded in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio working in multiple disciplines ranging from furniture, lighting and objects to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants around the world.

The ambition is to forge new paths by balancing opposites: classic and modern, industrial and organic, sculptural and minimal, light and shadow.

The studio's intuitive approach embodies designs that are distinctively shaped by given circumstances, functional needs and a fundamental interest in human behaviour. It is a sense and belief in slow aesthetics that is central to quality and longevity.
