Description
With the Panthella lamp, Verner Panton has exploited optical qualities to the full. Formerly made of acrylic and metal, the portable Panthella lamp is now made of polymer.
The hemispherical shade diffuses a soft light that is mainly directed downwards, where its convex base acts as a reflector to obtain a glare-free, multi-directional light that illuminates the entire room evenly.
Today, the lamp is available in a wide range of white and colored versions, and everyone will find one to suit their tastes and uses.

Designer
Verner Panton
Verner Panton (1926-1998) is famous for his inspiring and colorful personality. A unique individual with a particular sense for color, form, the function of light and space.
Over the course of his career, Panton created a series of characterful modern lamps unlike any of his Scandinavian contemporaries.
With a remarkable faith in the unlimited possibilities of form, he succeeded in creating a new set of theories on the function and influence of light.
“The main aim of my work is to encourage people to use their imagination. Most people live their lives in monotonous, gray-beige conformity, mortally afraid of using color. By experimenting with lighting, colors, textiles and furniture and using the latest technologies, I try to open the way to new ways of doing things, to encourage people to use their imagination and make their environment more exciting.” - Verner Panton
Verner had a very clear vision of his work, of form, color and function. At the same time, he had a conscious and courageous use of different materials, and their use often led Panton's contemporaries to disparage the “timelessness” of his designs. The great interest in his creations today proves otherwise.
