E27 pendant, terracotta – Muuto

Description

Mattias Ståhlbom on his creation: “The simplicity of the naked socket is hard to get past. Something about it is both romantic and contemporary. The E27 takes this simplicity as its starting point, fully embracing it to make a graphic, assertive object.

The E27 socket is made of high-temperature pressed silicone; the wire is extruded; both are assembled by hand.

Designer

Mattias Ståhlbom

Born in 1971, Mattias Ståhlbom is a Swedish designer and architect. He studied in Stockholm, at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design and the University of Art and Ethnology.

He subsequently worked for major companies in New York and Stockholm. In particular, he created the elegant and pure E27 collection for Muuto.

These pendant lights are perfectly in tune with his design philosophy: “I like simple ideas, and I really like a lot of things with simple methods and materials. Obvious things that are so ordinary, they become extraordinary.”
